West Island College has recently undergone major renovations and built a new, energy-efficient, award-winning Arts & Sciences Pavilion. This beautiful building houses three laboratories, a visual arts studio, a computer centre and six regular classrooms. The original structure and new facilities are joined by what is called “The Link”, which has created an outdoor quad (courtyard) at the centre of the school. In addition, WIC has a double gymnasium with full locker rooms and showers, a sports field, a resource centre which includes a computer laboratory and books for research, an audio/visual and performing arts centre and full cafeteria services. The cafeteria is open from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. each day and offers a full nut-free menu, including hot and cold meals, a variety of fruit juices, muffins and homemade snacks. As of the 2007-2008 academic year, the school’s meal plan will be compulsory for all new students.
