WIC Alumni Association Annual Fund
Dear Parents,
We would like to welcome you to West Island College not only as parents of a WIC student, but also as members of a family of over 3400 parents who have entrusted their children's education to a first-rate institution. Upon graduation, your child/children will join an elite group that boasts a roster of over 1700 young and dynamic members, called the West Island College Alumni Association.
Each year, the school's administration approaches the Alumni Association with a list of requests and needs, such as building and facilities improvements, research tools (library books, online subscriptions and computers) and scholarships. Since the majority of our alumni are either in university or are just starting their careers and families, and are, accordingly, not yet in a position to make a substantial gift to the school, the Association raises funds through special events, corporate and parent support.
This year, West Island College has approached the Alumni Association for a total gift of $470,000, which we will raise from various sources. This goal will only be attained if 100% of our parent population participates by contributing $1,000 for each of their children enrolled at West Island College. The Association, in return, is committed to raising the balance of the funds from special events, alumni and corporate solicitations.
