Option A)
Contact the school for an application form.

Option B)
Download and fill in the application form from our website. (If the link doesn't open the application form, then right-click over link and select "Save As." Then open the file, print a copy and fill it out. You can either scan and email the completed application to admissions@westislandcollege.qc.ca, print it and fax it to 514-683-1702 or mail it to: West Island College Admissions - 851 Tecumseh, D.D.O., QC H9B 2L2)

Arrange to meet the Admissions Officer. She would be pleased to chat with the entire family and discuss the many advantages of attending West Island College. You are welcome to visit the school's facilities, meet with the teachers and discuss your interests with other students and parents.


2.

Upon completion of the application form, it must be remitted with:
 
1) A wallet sized photograph
2) A copy of the applicant's latest report card (grade 5 if the grade 6 evaluation has not been issued)
3) The applicant's permanent code, available from the elementary school or in evidence on the applicant's report card. Quebec residents will not be processed unless a correct permanent code is presented.
4) A cheque in the amount of $50 payable to West Island College. Please note that this fee is non-refundable.
5) Copy of the applicant's birth certificate
6) Copy of the applicant's certificate of eligibility for English studies (if applicable)

Entrance Examinations for Secondary I shall be held on Saturday, October 24th and Sunday, October 25th, 2009. Late applicants may be tested individually.



3.

Each applicant may be required to fulfill any or all of the following:

a) standardized testing for grade level performance in Mathematics and Reading;

b) standardized testing for age level performance across a variety of cognitive skills;

c) language skill evaluation to determine appropriate placement in mother tongue and second language courses;

d) Applicants will be put into groups and asked to complete a fun problem solving activity. It is important to assess the applicant's general character and social suitability, given West Island College's high behavior standards.


4.

Each applicant will select a non-relative to serve as a referee. If needed, a personal reference form will be sent directly to the referee identified on the application form.


5.

Applicants to Secondary II through V are conducted throughout winter and spring. Waiting lists are processed by order of the date of acceptance and availability of space will govern the College's contract offers.


6.

All applicants are processed within 7 days of the evaluation and families are notified of the results within 14 days.
