Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk for the Cure

WIC students participated once again in the West Island Walk for the Cure on Thursday, October 16th to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Over the past seven years of WIC’s participation, we have presented JDRF with close to $150,000. This year's Walk raised over $15,000, despite difficult financial times in general. Congratulations and way to go!

 Bicycle Collect

WIC’s Interact Service Club organized their 7th annual bicycle collection drive in collaboration with Cycle North-South on Saturday, October 18th.  The weather held out and was beautiful, though crisp, and a large amount of bicycles was collected! The bicycles will be sent to a country in need to provide an ecological, economical and much-needed way for a person or family in need to access sometimes far-away schools, workplaces and health services.
